WinWrap® Basic has always supported UNICODE string expressions. Starting with version 9 WinWrap® Basic supports UNICODE scripts. On Windows 2000, XP and Server systems both the interpreter and the IDE work with UNICODE scripts instead of DBCS scripts. This allows multiple "languages" within a single script. All file I/O supports both UTF-8 and UTF-16 file formats.
Legacy Windows Systems
Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows ME systems provide limited UNICODE support. For those systems WinWrap® Basic uses DBCS instead of UNICODE. Previous versions of WinWrap® Basic (v8 and before) also used DBCS instead of UNICODE.
